There have been many religious questions going through my mind this past night, and I need to get them down before I go to bed and forget them. I will probably forget some anyway, but at least this way I will capture some of them.
1) If the Bible can be interpreted differently by different people, who decides who is interpreting it correctly? That is, if anyone is interpreting it at all.
2) If God has made us in his image, why do some religions teach that some people are wrong in their lives...as long as they are not hurting another person, why does how another lives their life have to affect another person?
3) Why are some people so hypocritical about religion? Preaching one thing, while living another?
4) Does God really judge everything I do as long as I am a good person, care about others, put other's wants and needs ahead of mine, and love?
5) Why is religion sometimes confused with law? I am not putting this correctly, but mostly I am talking about Mormons who practice polygamy? Why is it illegal to marry a child bride? They used to do it all the time in the ancient times? Why is it against the law to have more than one wife? As long as everyone accepts the lifestyle, who should be able to say that it's not right? I am Catholic and we believe that the bread and wine actually turn into the body and blood of Christ, isn't that cannibalism? I'm not saying that I believe in all that the polygamists believe in, but that's just me. As long as the people participating are okay with it, why is it wrong? All parties should agree with what is happening though, not just one person.
These are just the beginnings of my pondering and I plan on explaining my reasoning for these questions but it is time for bed. At least I can go with a clear head. Goodnight.

Something to think about
How would you react?
If your little boy wanted to dress in dresses, what would you say? If he wanted to wear makeup and paint his nails, would you let him. How important is society's view of you and your family to you? Or is your child's happiness more important. Personally, I just want my child to be happy. I would not want to repress their wants or needs just because they are doing something that is not normal in society. A loving parent should accept their child, no matter what. We all want our children to be "normal", but what is "normal". As it is pointed out in the show, women can wear pants and shorts but men cannot wear dresses or skirts. Why is that? Even if you don't agree with the topic, you should watch the show anyway. It's good to get new perspectives on things!

Accountability
Tomorrow morning I will be going for a nice, early morning run. I am announcing this to encourage accountability. I have found that if I don't have anyone to answer to, 95% of the time I will chose not to. Even though no one is following this blog yet, I will pretend that I am the most read blog out there. For me, it's all about getting into the groove. Prior to exercising, I dread the thought of getting going. It's not till about 20 minutes into the actual exercise that I begin to enjoy myself. But here is the reality. My co-worker Pam is not going to be working tomorrow so I have to be into work for 7:30 in order to have brunch ready to be served for 8:30. There will probably be around 25 people in for brunch. Then, everything has to be clean and put away and I want to be on the road for the Woodstock Fair by 10:30. I plan on having to work late because we probably won't get to the fair till around 12 and I want everyone to have enough time to see everything. The Woodstock Fair is one of my favorites to go to and there needs to be adequate time to eat everything. And I will eat. Cotton candy is one of my most favorite fair foods ever!!!! But I also enjoy the funnel cakes, mini donuts, french fries, and baked potatoes. After everything, I know I won't want to even move my body off of the couch at night. So 5:30am run it is. Oy. Just thinking about it makes me want to delete this post and pretend that I never wrote it. I guess I need to get to bed...after I finish The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. No worries though, I'm almost done. Goodnight.
Popping the cherry
So here it is. My first post in my first blog. I'm seriously more excited about this than I should be. Honestly, I'm not that interesting so hopefully my sister Elena will be willing to guest author some posts. She is much more witty than I am. But I figured that it was time to lay it out there. Share my thoughts. Let more people into the mind of Kaitlin Grout. First and foremost, I'm honest. I won't bulls*** you. That's not how I roll. In life, this blatant honesty has gotten me in trouble but I would rather tell you the truth than have my lies bite me in the butt. I learned my lesson when I was 17. Second, I care. I really do. Thirdly, I make mistakes: spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes, mistakes in cliches. Point it out. It makes life more fun to know when I'm not being perfect. Lastly, and probably the biggest reason why I feel like sharing is that I am utterly normal and I know that many people can relate to me. One day I will be famous, or more likely, someone I know will be famous and I will be the girl walking next to them in pictures of People and you can say...hey I read her first post on her first blog. Get ready to read a not-so-famous girl's blog!
